Software solutions, every size of business

01 · Why Alphacroft exists

Built on a simple irritation: software done carelessly.

Alphacroft started with a pattern its founder kept meeting from inside the industry: businesses paying serious money for software delivered as a black box: vague scopes that mutated into change-order machines, codebases held hostage by the people who wrote them, and ‘progress reports’ that reported everything except progress.

The fix isn’t a manifesto; it’s mechanics. Fixed scopes with the assumptions in writing. Working software demonstrated every week. A live portal where the client sees what we see. A handover pack that makes leaving us genuinely possible, which is, we’ve found, the strongest reason clients stay.

The name says the ambition: an alpha croft, a first field, worked properly. Software as something cultivated and owned, not assembled and rented. We’re at the beginning, we’re saying so plainly, and we’re letting the way we work, not invented numbers, make the argument.

02 · Values

Values with price tags attached.

A value that costs nothing is a slogan. Each of ours states what it costs us. That's how you know they're load-bearing.

Honest scoping

We quote what the work costs, with the assumptions attached, and we turn down briefs that don't need us.

What it costs us: revenue we could have taken. We've already declined work this quarter because a €200 tool solved the brief.

Work in the open

Every client sees live milestone status, weekly demos, and the real state of their project, including the bad weeks.

What it costs us: the comfort of polishing news before sharing it. We think that comfort is where projects go to die.

Ownership without lock-in

Clients own their code, infrastructure, and documentation from day one, and the handover pack makes leaving genuinely possible.

What it costs us: the recurring revenue of captivity. We'd rather be kept for quality than for custody.

Standards over promises

Performance budgets, accessibility, tested backups, documented decisions: written down, published, checkable.

What it costs us: speed on the days a shortcut would be invisible. Those are exactly the days standards exist for.

03 · Team

Founder-led, on purpose.

Small by design, senior by rule. The team grows as the work does, and this page only ever shows real people, never a stock-photo bench.

Founder-led delivery

Every founding-phase engagement is run end to end by the founder: scoping, architecture, code, and the weekly demo. You’ll know exactly who is building your software from the first call; we just don’t do marketing-page portraits.

This grid grows with real people as Alphacroft grows. If building software to the standards on this site sounds like your kind of work:

04 · How we're built

The same discipline we sell.

Remote-first, rhythm-heavy. Weekly demo Fridays for every active project, internal ones included. This site and the client portal are run with the same milestone discipline we bill for.

Senior-only delivery. No pyramid of juniors learning on your invoice. Small engagements get experienced hands; that’s the whole staffing model.

Everything documented. Decision logs, runbooks, and ADRs are house style. Our own platform’s spec is 1,100 lines and public to clients.

Tools we’d recommend. We run on the same boring, excellent stack we deploy for clients. Dogfooding is quality control.
